கோவில்பட்டிக் கொடூரங்கள்
குறிப்பிடப்பட்ட நேரத்தில் கடையடைப்புச் செய்யவில்லை என்ற காரணத்திற்காகக் கோவில்பட்டியில் கைதுசெய்யப்பட்டுக் காவலில் வைக்கப்பட்டிருந்த தந்தை, அவரைக் காண காவல் நிலையம் சென்றிருந்த - மகன், இருவரும் காவலர்களின் கண்மூடித்தனமான தாக்குதலால் உயிரிழந்த நிகழ்ச்சி பெரும் அதிர்ச்சியை ஏற்படுத்தி இருக்கிறது. அமெரிக்காவின் மினியாபோலிஸுக்கு நாங்கள் சற்றும் சளைத்தவர்கள் இல்லை என்று காட்டுகிறார்களோ?

Its a very unfortunate and heinous crime. Without diluting the culpability of the policemen involved in this incident, one should also inquire about the mental status of the police force which has been under tremendous strain over past 75-80 days in trying to implement the lock down, confronting continuous non cooperation from the public.
ReplyDeleteI agree. Frustration leads to unintended consequences. I was in the process of writing one on this aspect when Kovilpatti happened. But there is also a theory going around ( you might have seen the videos on this) that this was an act to take revenge on them as they refused to "gift' a cell phone to one of the police who in-turn wanted to gift it to his paramour for favours rendered.
DeleteThis is a barbaric act of the T N Police and is unpardonable, whatever is the provocation.People cutting across various spectrums have condemned this tragic killing of father and son.My heart goes out to them.

ReplyDeleteBut Kovilpatti is 102 km from Sattankulam.
These devils aka sattans are from Sattankulam.
Why did they come to Kovilpatti from Sattankulam instead of other nearby places like Srivaikuntam,20 km,Thoothukudi 35 Km,Tiruchendur 30 km,Tirunelveli 25 km.
Infact you have to cross Tirunelveli to reach Kovilpatti.
Probably these devils wanted to eat Kovilpatti groundnut mittaai.
It is a real mystery .
A few cases of police excesses at sattankulam have surfaced now. Maybe, Sattankulam police are specialists in torturing.
