சென்- ( ZEN )

ZEN ( சென் )என்பது என்ன?

அது ஒரு வகையான புரிதல் ! புரிந்தபின் அதன் மூலம் வாழ்க்கையை அறிதல் !

உலகிலுள்ள எல்லாப் பொருள்களிலும் - அசையும் பொருள், அசையாப் பொருள் இவை அனைத்திலும்  -  உள்நின்று ஒளிர்வது ஒன்றே என்று உணர்தலே ZEN.  (சென் )

அத்வைத தத்துவத்தின் ஒரு அவதாரம் என்றே இதைக் கருதலாம் என்று எண்ணுகிறேன்.

இந்தத் தத்துவம், தென்னிந்தியாவிலிருந்து புறப்பட்டு சீனா வழியாக ஜப்பான் சென்று இந்த வடிவை எடுத்திருக்கிறது.

இது பற்றி எனக்குத் தெரிந்தது , ஒரு புதுக் கவிதை வடிவில்.

தவழும்  தென்றல் ,இலைகளின்  மணங்கள்

பறவையின் கூக்கு - சென்

சுற்றிலும் இரைச்சல் சூழ்ந்திருக் கையில்

மனத்துள் மௌனம் - சென்

எரியும் கனல் , தீக்குள் விரல்  

தீண்டுதல் இன்பம் - சென்

சொற்களின்  சிலம்பம்  , வார்த்தையின் கதம்பக் 

கவிதையுள் கருப்பொருள் - சென்.    

அலைகளின் சலனம், ஆழ்கடல்  மௌனம் 

இதுவும் அதுவும்   சென் -  நீர்

நிறைந்த கோப்பை , குறைந்த கோப்பை

இரண்டும் ஒன்றே - சென். 

வேண்டு மனைத்தும் உன்னிடம் உண்டு

என்று உணர்தல் - சென்

உன்னை நிறைக்கும் உட்பொருள் ஒன்றே

உள்ளிலும் வெளியிலும் - சென்

நேற்றை மறந்து நாளையைத் துறந்து

இன்றில் இருப்பது சென்.

பிரபஞ்சப் பெருக்கின் போக்கில் துகளாய்

மிதந்து மகிழல் -சென்

ரஜினி - அன்றும் இன்றும்

ரஜினி - அன்றும் இன்றும்

இது  ஒரு கபாலி ஸ்பெஷல்!
ஒரு மாதத்திற்கு மேலாக இருந்த சஸ்பென்ஸ் முடிந்து படம் வெளியே வந்துவிட்டது
டிக்கெட்டுகளுக்கு ஒரே அடிதடி !
படம் எப்படி இருந்தாலும்,  ரஜினி ஒரு பினாமெனான் (phenomenon ) என்பதை மறுக்க முடியாது.
இது பற்றி ஒரு சின்ன பாட்டு.


ரஜினி - அன்றும் இன்றும்

"டிக்கெட், டிக்கெட்" என்று பேருந்தில் விற்றதுபோய்
திக்கெட்டும் அரங்குகளில் ரஜினி படம்  வெளியாக
"பக்கெட்டு* பக்கெட்டாய்" பாலபிஷேகம் செய்யும்
பக்தர்கள் டிக்கெட்டே கிடைக்காமல் தவிக்கின்றார்!

The story of the small squirrel which helped Lord  Rama , in its own way, to build the bridge to Lanka, by carrying small amounts of sand in its back , is too familiar to be told again in detail. The legend goes that Lord  Rama , thankful for  the help  of the squirrel , patted his back with his fingers , which resulted in the three lines which we see on the back of all squirrels.

The moral, of course, is that however small may be  the quantum of help which one receives, the recipients would honour this as something big.

Kural has a chapter of ten verses titled GRATITUDE in one of which  this aspect is brought forth.

The poetic versions , in English , of this Kural are :

Though small as millet seed, as palm tree vast will seem.

Knowers count its' palm tree tall !

The meaning :

Though the benefit conferred be as small as a millet seed, those who know its advantage will consider it as large as a palymara fruit.

Now for the மேல் வைப்பு வெண்பா - with the first two lines by me describing the story of the Squirrel and how this gesture, small in scale as it is , was honored by SriRaman. The third and th fourth lines of the Venbaa constitute the original Kural.

அணையெடுக்க மண்கொடுத்த பிள்ளையணில் பின்முதுகில்  

அண்ணலுமே நன்றியுடன் முக்கோட்டை இட்டார்(ஏ) 

தினைத்துணை   நன்றி செயினும் பனைத்துணையாய்

கொள்வர் பயன்தெரி வார்.

வாடைக் காற்றில் வாடிய வண்ணம்

படுத்துக்  கிடந்த நத்தைகள் சிலவும்

விடியும் காலை இளவெயில்  வேளையில்

கூட்டை விட்டு வெளியே வந்து

பாட்டையில் ஏறி படுத்த படியே

ஆகா வென்று ஆதவன் சூட்டை

Dear All ,

Thanks for the response to and the positive comments on  the first three posts  on Kural and the stories.

Now for the fourth in the series.

This one is from the Chapter titled  Vaaymai (வாய்மை ).   The Kural , in this chapter has ten verses , nwhich talk about the virtues of telling the truth.

The story referred to is that of King Harichandran . He was a stickler for the truth and  refused to utter even a single lie , irrespective of the consequences. There are several versions to his story. In the one taught to me in my childhood, he looses his Kingdom and all his wealth due to his refusal to utter a lie and ends up selling his wife and himself in order to pay off his debt to Rishi Viswamitra. He ends up as a gatekeeper in a crematorium to which his wife brings the dead body of his son, who dies due to a snake bite. At this time , Viswamitra tells him that his son will be resurrected and he himself will get back his kingdom , if only he tells a single lie. Harichandran refuses, even at the cost of loosing his only son. Pleased with his determination not to utter even a single lie,  the gods Indra and Yama appear and resurrect his sun and also restore his kingdom and riches to him.wif ( In some other versions , he is forced to execute his wife and is told that she can survive and his son can be resurrected if he tells a lie. ).

"பொய்யுரையேன் என்மகனைக் காத்திடவும் " என்றுரைத்த  

செய்யனரிச்* சந்திரன்தன் காதைதரும்  நீதியிதே

பொய்யாமை பொய்யாமை ஆற்றின் அறம்பிறவும் 

செய்யாமை செய்யாமை நன்று                                      

·       செய்யன் = நேர்மையானவன்

இரைச்சலா , சங்கீதமா?



தினமும் பலப்பலவிதமான ஒலிகளைக்  கேட்கிறோம்.
அசைவே வாழ்க்கையின் அடையாளம்.
ஒலியில்லாமல் அசைவில்லை.
அதனால் , ஒலியில்லாமல் வாழ்க்கையும் இல்லை.
ஆனால் சிலருக்கு சங்கீதமாக இனிப்பது, சிலருக்கு இரைச்சலாக கசக்கிறதே?
இரைச்சலா , சங்கீதமா? படித்துப்  (கேட்டுப் ) பாருங்கள்!

காலையில் கிண்கிணித்  தொலித்து எழுப்பிடும் நேரம் காட் டியின் நில்லா இரைச்சல் காக்கை குருவி பறவைகள் கூட்டம் பற்பல விதமாய் போடும் இரைச்சல்	அதிகாலையிலே கடிகாரத்தின் கிணு  கிணு  ஓசை சங்கீதம் பறவைக ளெழுப்பும்  கீச் கீச் ஒலிகள் காலை வேளையில்  பூபாளம்
வாசலில் நாட்தாள்  போடும் பையனின் வண்டி செய்திடும் டப் டுப் இரைச்சல் பள்ளிக்குச்  செல்லும் சிறுவரை அழைத்துச் செல்லும் வண்டியின் பாம் பாம் இரைச்சல்	நாட்தாள் போடும் பையனின் வண்டியின் தாளம் மேளத்தின் சங்கீதம் பள்ளி ஊர்திக்குக்   காக்கும்  குழந்தைகள்  சிரித்துப் பேசுமொலி  சங்கீதம்.
வீதிக்கு வந்தால் வகை வகையாக காதைத் துளைக்கும்  வாகன இரைச்சல் வெளியே போக வாகனம்  ஏறினால் வாகனத்துள்ளும்  வானொலி இரைச்சல்	வீதியில் ஓடும் வாகன வரிசைகள் வாழ்வெனும் நதியின்  நீரோட்டம். அவைகள்  எழுப்பும் ஒலிகள் உலகத்தின் இதயத்தின் லப்-டப் சங்கீதம்.
நிம்மதியாக இருக்க விடாமல் நில்லா  தடிக்கும் டெலிபோன் இரைச்சல் மதியம் சிறிது ஓய்வெடுக்கையிலே அடிக்கடி அடிக்கும் அழைப்பான் இரைச்சல்	கைபேசிகளில் விதவிதமாக கூப்பிடும் ராகங்கள் சங்கீதம். தன்னந் தனியாய் வீட்டில் இருக்கையில்  விருந்தினர் அழைப்பொலி  சங்கீதம்.
நாளும் முடிந்து தூங்க முயல்கையில்  சுழலு மின்சார  விசிறியின்   இரைச்சல் இரவு முழுவதும் இடைவிடாமல் தெருவில் நாய்கள் குறைக்கும் இரைச்சல்.	சுழலும் விசிறியின் சீரிய சத்தம் உறங்கச்  செய்யும் சங்கீதம். தெருவில்  நாய்கள் குறைக்கும் சத்தம் திருடரைத் துரத்தும் சங்கீதம்.
இரவில் எங்கும் அமைதி சூழ்ந்தாலும்  மனதில் மட்டும் மௌனமாய் இரைச்சல். பகலும் இரவும் எங்கும்  இரைச்சல் வாழ்வே  அதனால் முழுதும்  எரிச்சல்	நாளிலும் பொழுதிலும் பலஒலி கேட்டபின்  இரவின் மௌனமும் சங்கீதம். நன்றாய் இன்றொரு நாளும் முடிந்தபின் நாளையும் தொடரட்டும் சங்கீதம்.

 

நினைத்ததும் நடந்ததும்

நினைத்ததும் நடந்ததும் 

பல சமயங்களில் நாம் மிகவும் எதிர்பார்ப்புடன் , மகிழ்ச்சியைத் தரும் என வேண்டி , செய்யும் செயல்கள் ஏமாற்றத்தில் முடிகின்றன.

காலையில் சூரியன் கடலிலிருந்து எழும்  உதயக் காட்சியைப்  பார்க்க எண்ணி கடற்கரைக்குச் சென்று காத்திருக்கையில் , மேகமூட்டத்தால் சூரியன் முற்றிலும் மறைக்கப்பட்டு ஏமாந்த அனுபவம்  எல்லோருக்கும்
ஒரு முறையாவது ஏற்பட்டு இருக்கும்!

இதுவே பரவாயில்லை!

சில சமயம் முற்றும் எதிர்பார்க்காத சிலவும் நேரக்கூடும் !
எனக்கு நேர்ந்த ஒரு அனுபவம் இதோ!

 கலைந்த கனவுகள் 

ஆற்றின் ஓரப்  பூங்கா வினிலே

காலை நேர இளங்குளி ரினிலே

காற்றின் கரங்களின் அணைப்பில் அமிழ்ந்து

கலையா மௌனச் சூழலில் அமர்ந்து

இயற்கையை இனிதாய் ரசிக்க வேண்டியே --------------

 

காலையில் எழுந்து காலணி அணிந்து

சாலையில் கூட்டம் கூடிடும் முன்னே

பூங்கா சென்று அங்கொரு இருக்கையில்

பாங்காய்  அமர்ந்து வியர்வை முளைத்த

முகத்தைத் துடைத்து மேலே பார்க்கையில்   -------

 

பறவை எச்சம் தலையில் விழுந்தது !!!
