ஜெர்லின் அனீகாவின் சாதனைகள்
பிரேசில் நாட்டில் அண்மையில் நடைபெற்ற " செவிப்புலனிழந்தோருக்கான ஒலிம்பிக் போட்டி" யில் (deafolympics), மதுரையைச் சேர்ந்த 18 வயது ஜெர்லின் அனீகா என்ற சிறுமி மூன்று தங்கப் பதக்கங்களை வென்றாள்! இந்தச் சாதனை பெரிதாக செய்தித் தாள்களிலும் ஊடகங்களிலும் போற்றப்படவில்லை . இது குறித்து வருத்தத்துடன் ஒரு பாடல் .

கேட்கும்திற னிழந்தோரின் சிறகுப்பந் தாட்டத்தின் *
போட்டியிலே பங்கேற்று பதக்கங்கள் பலவென்று
நாட்டுக்குப் பெருமையினைச் சேர்த்திட்ட நங்கைபற்றி
ஏடுகளும் எழுதவில்லை ஊடகங்கள் உரைக்கவில்லை
செவிப்புலன்கள் சிதைபட்ட சிறுமியிவள் சாதனைகள்
செவிகளிலே விழவிலையோ ? செவிடாகிப் போனோமோ ?
மவுனமினும் காட்டாமல் மாற்றுத்திற னாளிகளின்
பவிசு**க்கோர் ஒளிவட்டம் போட்டேநாம் காட்டிடுவோம்!

** பவிசு = சிறப்பு, பெருமை

ReplyDeleteThanks! Earlier I had written on how a prize winning mathematician got little attention while the winner in a beauty contest hogged all the attentio. Wish these achievements by diiferently enabled and those in other less celebrated fields get their due attention.
DeleteVery well expressed ! Wether media recognises or not, our PM has invited them and praised them for their unprecedented achievements ! That’s more than the regional media who strive for gossips and propagating cheap politics.
