அடிமுடி காணமுடியா அரன் 
(பிரதோஷப் பாடல் 2)

சிவபெருமான் , ஒரு நீண்ட நெருப்புத்தூண் வடிவத்தில் விஸ்வரூபம் எடுத்து நிற்கையில், பிரம்மன் அவரது முடியையும், திருமால் அவரது அடியையும் காண முனைந்து தோல்வியுற்றதாக ஐதீகம்.

இன்று, பிரதோஷ தினத்தன்று, இது பற்றி ஒரு சிறு பாடல் இயற்றி இறைவனுக்கு சமர்ப்பிக்கிறேன்.

அடிமுடி காணமுடியா அரன் -- பிரதோஷப் பாடல்

மறையுரைத்த பிரம்மனே பறந்து சென்ற போதிலும் 
திரைகடல் துயில் மாதவன் தரைபிளந்து செல்லினும் 
வரையறையாம்  முடியடி அருகடைந்து அறிவொணா 
இறையவனின் இருபதம் பணிந்துகுறை யிரத்துவோம். 

 வரையறை -  எல்லை .
அறிவொணா - அறிய முடியாத
குறையிரத்தல்  - வணங்கி  வேண்டுதல்  ; to beseech

When Vishnu and Brahma couldn't decide who was greater among them, they 

went to Kailash and explained their situation. Hearing this, Lord Shiva said "I will help to resolve who is the best of you two, I will be taking a giant avatar(Vishwaroopam), having an infinite height, the first person to find my end points of my avatar, i.e., feet or the head will be declared as the winner". Lord Vishnu and Brahma agreed to this and Lord Shiva took a vishwaroopam(Avatar of having an infinite height) as a form of fire. Lord Vishnu went for the pursuit of finding the feet and Brahma went for the pursuit of finding the head. Both came back to Kailash. While Vishnu agreed that he could not find his feet, Brahma falsely claimed that he saw Shiva's head. Knowing Brahma was lying, Shiva cursed Brahma and that is why  no temples  are normally built for Brahma
