A SCENE AT THE SEA-SHORE

 A SCENE AT THE SEA-SHORE

Sometime ago, I had written and published in my Blog, a Tamil poem about my walk on the sea-shore along with my little Grand Daughter.

My eldest Grand Daughter had asked if there was an English version of the poem. As I did not want to disappoint her, I translated it, in the form of an English Poem! Here it is, for your reading pleasure!

V.Ramesh

A SCENE AT THE SEA-SHORE

The Sea-waves wearing     a Silver Crown

Caress the sandy     shores of brown

Cool-wind over     my body blows

Finding its way     through layers of clothes

The warm sunrays     from the big blue sky

To some extent,     does the cold nullify

The clouds are spraying     little droplets

Wetting my clothes     and the sand carpet

The feel of the raindrops     falling on my face

Fills my mind with     Joy and Peace.

When I am standing      still on the shore

Small waves come     to caress my feet

The Strong Big waves     come rushing at me

and they chase me back     and I retreat!

As the waves recede,     into to the Sea

They burrow a pit,     below my feet!

As the sand gets pulled     from under my toes

I feel it causing a     tickle in my sole!

I walk for a while     with my Grand daughter

Holding her small little     hands in mine,

Savoring the glory of the     morning Sun,

As he rises from the sea,     on the ease sky-line.

When the rays of the Sun     and the wave crests meet

The whole sea turns     into a  silver plate.

We walk on the shore,     leaving footprints on the sand

And the play of the waves     won't let them long stand.

But the picture of the Sun     and the shimmering silver sea

Will stay in my heart,     etched in memory!
